I am a former Rockfordian who moved away several years ago, and now am an avid disc golfer. I am planning a trip to the old stomping grounds, and would like any information/advice regarding the Page Park courses.
I understand crime has become more of an issue since I left, and am wondering about safety of bringing my daughter to the park. Maybe this is more rumor than anything else, but I would appreciate any thoughts on this.
Also, I am wondering which course is better to play if I have to choose between the two? I would characterize myself as an amateur player, but with a thirst for challenge.
I'm really looking forward to coming back home, and will enjoy a disc golf experience at a park I treasured as a child. Any and all thoughts are welcome! Thanks!

Well if you have not played here before then I recommend that you play both sides if you have the time, each course is challenging but I would say start on the new course that is on the west side of the park, the baskets are a little easier to find and most can be seen from the tee pad, this side will test your aim do to the trees that you will have to play through, the east side course is open and it will test every kind of throw you can think of.
as far as crime goes, there is nothing to worry about at this park, I bring my five year old with me all the time to play, and I have not seen any problems out here since I have been playing. the Rockford park district does a good job keeping the grass cut, and GRABM club members keep garbage picked up off the courses, I think you will find it well worth playing. if you have any other questions fell free to email me:

Two players from the Appleton, WI area played both courses on Monday. I showed them around both courses, including the alternates we are in the process of changing over to this week. I just received their report via e-mail. They played 17 courses in just a few short days & put both East & West courses in their top 5 (over 3 states!). These are well traveled players & have seen more courses than any of us ever thought of seeing.. Congratulations to GRABM & the Rockford Park District.

it's good they liked them. i was gonna show them a lot of the courses played, but our schedules never worked. i rank Anna Page in my top 3, next to sinnissippi, and i have played over 50 courses in 5 states.
