The Winnebago County Forest Preserve District has actually given approval for any of the forest preserve parks for a disc golf course. They had suggested initially for Hononegah Forest Preserve. There is some wonderful land there but we need to avoid the flood plains as it runs along the Rock River. As for Seward Bluffs, there is a great amount of land available and we have held our annual Club picnic there for years. Both of these locations are fantastic to be honest but if anyone has another suggestion and layout plans please let us know. We are looking for as much support as possible including suggestions and help and anything anyone has to offer. The more input the better for any new course considering location as well as layout. We first need final approval but it sounds very promising but we then need to focus on funding. The work I am sure we could work up but the material still costs money! There is a long way to go with this but we first need to decide on a location and go from there. On a side note we are working on a third course at Page and are just waiting on Park District approval for the final go ahead. Many of us are focused on this project that are more closely related to Page park but there are still many people pushing for this Preserve course. I would love to see both happen and am more than willing to do whatever it takes to make them both happen but it takes a strong group of supporters. Who else is with us and wants to be a part of making this happen?

That is some pretty awesome news. I have worked on getting both McHenry and Lake County Forest Preserves with no luck yet. Although McHenry has Fel Pro I talked to them about making changes. Hopefully I can get it done.
