What was a 50/50 CTP (50% to help pay for the trophies) is now a 100% CTP!!! A donor (who wishes to and WILL remain anonymous) has offered to pay for the trophies. So all money brought in on the CTP will get payed out! Be sure to sign up! And make sure to be at the player's meeting around 9:15, as I have another prize in store for the player's!

O.K. The CHUCKFest 2011 is now in the history books. 12 people braved the early rains and showed up for a really fun event. A great time was had by all, and I hope turnout increases for next year! We held off on the start for about 15 minutes to allow the rains to subside. The teepads were a little slimy during the first round, but didn't seem too bad. Since the IOS was coming to Aurora the following weekend, the course needed some cleaning. To entice entrants to help out with this, I held a "trash raffle". Everyone that brought back a full bag of garbage after the first round would be entered into the raffle for a 177+ first run X Buzzz from the 2004 Am Nat's from my collection. Everyone did a great job of cleaning up the course. Many bags were emptied and re-filled. The Pro/Adv. card that was following the Am cards was having a hard time finding trash! Everyone was entered into the raffle and Ryan Stilson won the Buzzz. The first round was a little damp, but everything went off without a hitch. We also played #17 as-is, there was some mud and a puddle or two but it was very playable. We all just sort of hung out for a while for lunch and then started up again for a drier second round. With 11 people entered into the CTP contest, two CTP's were in play, #4 (a short one) and #8 (the long one). Blaine S. took the first one on #4 (for $16) and none of the pro's could top it. Blaine also had the CTP on #8 until Randy Sr. stepped up to the tee and beat him by about 6" to take $17. Once the round was over the scores were totalled and here are the results: Pro/Advanced 1. Tafe Hemler 43/42, -23 total with a 175 CE Aviar; $33 and a CHUCKFest 2011/FVMDGC dry-fit t-shirt 2. Randy Moore Sr. 46/45, -17 total with a 176 Z Buzzz; $17 3. Kyle Chapman 48/46, -14 total with a 174 SuperSoft Wizard 4. Bryan Jenkins 47/50, -11 total with a 175 CryZtal Z Buzzz 5. Adam Luxich 56/56, +4 total with a 175 StupidSuperSoft VooDoo Amateur 1. Blaine Schepp 50/46, -12 total with a 175 Champ Wraith; declined first place prizes, took only the CTP! 2. Ryan Stilson 53/49, -6 total with a 173 CryZtal Z Buzzz; won sudden death on hole #1; $20 and a CHUCKFest 2011/FVMDGC dry-fit t-shirt 3. Steve Owens 53/49, -6 total with a 175 Star Destroyer; $10 4. John Cleaveland 54/58, +4 total with a 175 Avenger SS; $5 5. Rich Owens 58/57, +5 total with a 175 Meteor. Dbl-checked scorecards, no mis-count. 6. Dahlton Schepp 57/56, +5 total with a 171 Champ Wraith 7. Wes Lindquist 58, withdrew after first round due to a family obligation. With $24 in the Ace fund, and none hit, we threw off afterwards. We threw from hole #1's short tee to hole #8's basket. Sr. was closest for $16 and Blaine next for $8. This made Randy Sr. the BIG money winner for the day. I hope I can shoot that well at IOS #4 next Sat.! I hope to see more of you next year!
