Crevy's Bracket League has been modified.
There will be only 3 different brackets. Less than 5 players per bracket will move 1 player up & 1 player down (depending on which bracket). 6 to 9 players per bracket will move 2 players up & 2 players down (depending on which bracket). More than 10 players per bracket will more 3 players up & 3 players down (depending on which bracket).
It is $5 per week for 13 weeks. The first week is played for bracket position. The last 2 weeks the brackets will remain the same so no player gets a advantage on a specific course. Ace run separately from Sunday. 100% or more given back to players. Winner of each bracket gets their money back each week.
Please contact Rob or Bear for more details.
We tee off at 6:00pm Wednesday night.

This is what was brought up at the club meetings weeks ago & then approved by the creator of the league.
The problem with the league last year was the "brackets" were too small. If two people miss a week from the same bracket, it creates a twosome. Now there is little or no competition within the bracket, depending on who has the bad game. There were even times when only one player of the bracket showed. He won his bracket automatically by default.
The concept of a larger brackets is more of a tournament type of atmosphere. You are competing against more players which makes it more of a challenge to move up rather than moving up by default. There will always be a threesome, foursome or fivesome depending on who shows up.
It's the same exact concept just more players in the same bracket.
If you are going to miss a Wednesday, there are now more people in your bracket to play against to record the score on another day. These rounds are to be played within your bracket. All I need to know is who played & what the scores were. The details can be worked out later.
My information is on the contact page if you have any more questions.

There are more guys listed in the C bracket than there should be. Four of these guys have missed two consecutive weeks & may drop out. I will remove their names after 3 consecutive misses.
Next weeks bracket league will start on time. Those who show up late may play together as a group. I will record the scores if the late group can make up time & finish with the other groups.
The call list is almost complete. I will pass them out next Wednesday. We will know who's in or out after this next week.

Dislike the Groups of 5. Also, can't we start on different holes so we don't get jammed up like we did on wed?

The late group will play together from now on. This will keep us from starting late. Also, when guys bring their families out to play, let the kids play way ahead or behind to keep them from getting between groups. I can mix brackets to avoid groups of fives if players wish. The scores are all that matter.

Can't we just go back to the old bracket? That seemed alot better. And where are the Crevy's?

We can change back to the old format without any problems if the majority of the group agrees.
I have been asking around & the doubles may be a better choice than a commitment league during the summer. The bracket league was a nice alternative but people are busy during the summer & can't always make it every week.
I have also been working on a format for a divisional match play league that players can schedule their own rounds at their own convenience. This is how I ran a singles handicap league in '94 & '95.
I will present it for a vote & get some feedback at a club meeting this fall.
I appreciate the input Mike.

Some of the guys wanted to leave it as is. I will make up a spreadsheet for both in case it should work out better with the numbers.
Depending who shows, we can still break down into threesomes.
