During the last club meeting, Nov. 1, we discussed the following: tournament dates for next year, starting time for winter league and which course/ courses we are going to maintain, when to move the baskets on the west side, possibly getting a b-tier sanctioning for next year for one tournament, and new tee signs for the west course. The tournament dates are going to be the same as we have always had them, dates should be posted in the future. Winter league start time will be 10:10 for the draw of cards for partners so make sure to be there before then to pay in and get in on the action. As far as courses for winter leagues we are going to hold a weekly vote for what side to play until snow falls, from then on out we are going to maintain the east side only unless people want to go out and shovel the west side prior to doubles and then we can vote for either side if they are both shoveled and somewhat salted. We decided we will winterize the west course in about two weeks moving all the baskets into the easiest/most visible spots whichever the best combo of that may be. As far as a b-tier sanctioning goes we have to have $500 added cash for the pro division to qualify for a b-tier so we need to figure out how to generate that money or pick up sponsors. As far as tee signs go for the west the park district says they do not have the funding for it currently as they have said in the past and the club is going to have to foot the bill. For the time being we are going to make our own signs on 3/4" plywood and either use wood burning tools or a router to make the sketches and then shellac them. These signs will at least hold us over until we can find some more funding for better signs or the park district can come up with some extra money. Something for now at least. Hope this updates everyone with whats going on within our club and make sure to make it out next month for our meeting. They will always be held the first Monday of every month immediately following doubles on Sundays. Thanks for those who were there and contributed!

This is Scott's post on our February meeting. He has been posting it on the calendar thread at the bottom of the home page under "club meeting". I had problems finding it.
This months club meeting covered a wide variety of items involving the club, course, and club tournaments. Prices on disc sales were one such subject and we decided that our prices are far too low and prices for non-club members will increase a dollar or so depending on the plastic. Along the lines of money, tournament payouts were also discussed and we will follow the PDGA guidelines as far as payouts are concerned. As far as the course goes we discussed adding holes to our course and discussed the option or having another 18 altogether or turning out two current 18's into a pair of 24 hole courses. We had basically voted on a pair of 24 holes courses and will need to address the park district on this subject. If we do end up putting in a whole new 18 then we will more than likely have tone poles for the target and replace them with baskets when tournaments arise. The movement of baskets was also discussed and we have decided that we would like to move them more often and are currently working on devising a schedule to keep to so everyone knows when they are to move. Another subject for the course was that we wanted to construct a storage shelter/tournament central to conduct tournaments and for disc sales. On this subject the park district has informed us that we are required to carry a $1 million insurance policy during construction. As of right now we are still figuring out what to do in regards to this policy and if we still want to go through with the construction. We are also short as of right now on our funding for the B-Tier that we are hosting for the Grabm Classic and any fund raising or fund raising ideas would be welcome.
All future meetings will more than likely be held at Scanlan's on Riverside/Springfield. This is due to the fact of being indoors for one and out of the elements. Also, this will get members thinking more about club issues and forget about getting right back out there for a bag tag round. The restaurant/bar has food and drinks and is located minutes from the park so this seemed like a good choice. Meeting will still be at the same time as always immediately following the conclusion of doubles.
Thank you and hope to see you all at the next club meeting!

September Meeting Notes
We decided to have 4 divisions for our Halloween Havoc Tournament instead of 3 as in years past. We will now have Recreational, Intermediate, Advanced, and Open. Trophies will be given for first place in each division to each player, and second should be receiving a dyed trophy disc. Entry's will be $60 - Open, $40 - Advanced, $30 - Intermediate, $20 - Recreational. These prices are per team. We are going to add $4 per team for PDGA player fees so that the fee will not affect final payouts.
Speaking of tournaments we have heard that there is a possible grievance against the club about payouts for our last tournament. The club figured payouts based on the payout chart provided by the PDGA. Also, $3 per player was removed from payouts for the fee the PDGA places on each player for a B-tier event. There was also a $15 player pack given. We are going to try to modify in any way we can in order to make payouts better in the future and keep our tournament patrons happier.
Winter league trophies from last winter league were not given out yet and it was decided that they will finally be made and given to Charles and Dane for 1st and 2nd place respectively.
The Outlaw Event has become a hit and many more club members would like to take part this year. We are forced to have a play-off now in order to send our best team and be fair to everyone. This play-off has been scheduled for Saturday, September 11, at 12 noon! The play-off will be two rounds, one on each side. Good luck to all and hope to have a great team to send off to this years Outlaw.
We also had two more area golfers who joined our wonderful club putting us over 70 for the year. Way to go GRABM and hope we can keep the numbers growing as the sport continues to grow.
There were also a number of other things brought up and things that need to be discussed but will have to be addressed at a later date:
Bag tags being worth something at the end of the year. If you have an idea as to how we could make a prize system fairly please let us know.
Club bylaws were discussed along with roles of those with officer positions. There was a rough template provided by Bear and it is up for modification and debate before we bring anything into action.
There were also a number of other things that require discussion such as dirt in front of tee pads, some maintenance to pin sleeves, trimming of brush and miscellaneous other things. I am sure there are also quite a few things that wanted to be discussed but time did not allow and we hope to get some of this worked out and discussed at October's Meeting on October 3.
If you have anything to say about any of these issues or anything else pertaining to the park, the club, events, and the future of the club and the park please come out to our next meeting with ideas as well as an open ear. Thanks to all those who were in attendance this month and hope to see more and more club members caring about our park and what happens with our club.
