I agree with that. Chuck, Scott and I talked about that the other day when we played. I also think for number 5 that we should consider putting it further down the hill to the right if you are looking at it off of the tee pad. I think that only problem would be, would be the walk to 6 tee pad. Let me know what you think. I would like that better then the place we agreed on. I just never thought of it the other day when we were out there.

i mentioned that at the leagues on Sunday and to chuck last Wednesday when i seen him out there about hole 12. we should go for longest hole in Illinois on that hole.

One other note is we have to change the alternate on 6. We just can't have it there because of picnickers. The only way would be to move all the picnic tables down there and the grill. I just don't think that's going to happen. So any suggestions would help. And again I agree with 12 make it a par 4 leaning toward a par 5. Make it long as hell

at the doubles coming up im gonna do another 50/50 ctp to raise some more cash for course improvements. its always good to get a course cash stash for the club for these tweeks.
hole 12 we should measure out a monster hole as deep as we could go to see if we can get the longest hole in illinois at anna page, this will draw lots of big arm players to try and conquer it. maybe the tree grove deeper back from the placement now. then to shorten the walk from that hole to 13 maybe add a second pad to the side of the trees its in front of now, then 13 would have 2 pins and tees. just a thought

I don't see the longest hole happening. Carl measured it out and it would just be ridiculous. The walk between 12 and 13 would be too much even with an alternate tee. Maybe when we get the supplies for this and put them in people can have a say on where the holes should be again but I think it is pretty well set on where everything is going to be.

Digging holes for alternates on Wednesday, October 7 starting at 10 AM!! Whoever would like to help it would be appreciated. The more we have the easier and faster the alternates will be playable. We should have everything we need as far as tool wise but bring a pair of gloves and be ready to do some labor. We have an auger so it wont be all manual hole digging so don't be scared off by that cause we all know manual hole digging is not that much fun. Hope to see you out there and thanks to those who come!!

All the alternates are in place including C placements on holes 11 and 12. We had a pretty good turnout with eight of us working out there. Special thanks to Jim for bringing all the tools, his trusty sidekick Eric for running the auger all day, Carl for making trips to store and for lunch, and Booker who thought he was showing up to play and ended up working all day with us. Since I have mentioned all these names I don't want to shortchange the others who helped also cause their work did not go unnoticed so here is an honorable mention: Barry, Chuck, Scott, and Scott. We are planning on moving them into place tomorrow (Friday, October 9) at noon weather permitting. Also as listed under bag tag challenge by dabus we are planning a bag tag challenge on the new holes after we move them. So once again weather permitting around 1 for the bag tag round. And also once again it was great having everyone there for the work part and it went fairly smoothly all day. Lets hope there straight!!

All alternates have now been moved except for hole 10 because the hole had gotten run over by the mowers. Also, 11 and 12 are in the C positions, 11 is to the left of the original back in the bushes and 12 is down by the road behind the big tree with the poison ivy on it. Also, 13 is behind the original location behind the bushes. We put orange flags on top of the baskets to try to help people find them since there are no signs. Bathrooms and water fountains have been winterized so don't plan on using those facilities. Makes for a fun round out there now, and good luck to everyone!!

We are thinking of moving the west course holes into the winter positions sometime this week. If anyone is opposed to this and would like us to wait until after winter league this next week since we are on the west side speak up. If not they will more than likely be moved at some point this week. Let us know what you think.

We decided to move the baskets today, so all of the baskets are in what is believed to be the easiest positions for winter. The only hole we were not able to move was hole 9 and we will work on that sometime this week to try to get that basket in the sleeve. The only holes that remain in the alternate spots for winter are 3, 10, 14, and 8 as of right now but 8 will move once the snow falls. Hope you enjoy playing most of the originals again!!

We also saw a bunch of squirrels on the west side today. I'm not sure what that really means since we usually see squirrels out there but I just thought that I would let everyone know that I saw them out there today.
