Hello bush masters,
I've been coming nearly every year since 1990 or so to play Anna Page. Stayed with Jim Simpson first year there. Obviously, I love the original course and have enjoyed the new 18 the past few years. I believe a number of those holes existed as tournament holes originally.
This particular trip, a friend a I are meeting a Centrailia, IL., Foundation Park DGC, player, who is coming up to play the tourney in Milwaukee on Saturday. His first trip to Rockford, I believe. Even though I've been to Anna Page many times, there are still a few holes, even on the original, that, depending on pin placement, can take a bit to figure where they are. When you only get to the course once a year, there's lots of time between to forget....
Would someone be willing to meet with us and show us around, and give us the local news?
As mentioned, our Centrailia friend is heading north after Anna play.
My partner and I, however, are planning on heading west for Saturday play. Therefore, I am also hoping that someone may be willing to give us some floor space to sleep on Friday eve. I will bring some homemade wooden gifts to say thanks for such hospitality. Not sure on times yet, as we're still coordinating with E. from down south. May be able to also play Sinissippi, which I also love, if time allows, prior to crashing.
A little background; I've been playing since late 1980s. Have played well over 100 courses in Wisconsin, and am nearing 70 in Illinois. My home in the fox cities, Appleton, Wisconsin, would also be offered as a stopping spot for anyone offering hospitality. We have three fine 18s, a very nice 27 hole layout, and a couple of nines, within one half hour. Thanks,
Paul
